UBISOFT® INVITES PLAYERS TO HAVE A “BLOODY GOOD TIME™” ON XBOX LIVE ARCADE AND STEAM®

SAN FRANCISCO— September 2, 2010 — Today, Ubisoft® announced that Bloody Good Time™, a new intellectual property being developed by Outerlight, will be released on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and on Steam® for Windows PC this Fall.

Bloody Good Time takes a new and irreverent approach to multiplayer shooters and will run on Valve’s Source engine, a well-known specialized 3D game engine for classic multiplayer shooters. Bloody Good Time puts players on a Hollywood set, where they get to choose their thrill. From a spring-break beach house, to a horrifying Vegas hotel, players will discover the merciless world of movie studios where anyone can star in a scary Hollywood blockbuster film. There is an option link up to eight players online in this first-person shooter and to have a multiplayer experience like no other.

In Bloody Good Time, players can be as devious as possible by killing other competitors in nasty and unexpected ways. Players can use an arsenal of wacky weapons including guns, a frying pan and even an exploding remote-controlled rat to transform the movie set into real mayhem. In addition, players will be able to choose from a variety of stereotypical B-movie characters, such as the bikini beach babe, the creepy clown and the super jock.

KNM News Break: Ubisoft Announces Outland for PSN and XBLA

Posted by Tim On September - 6 - 2010

UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES OUTLAND™

An epic action-adventure game of light and darkness for PlayStation®Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade

SAN FRANCISCO – September 3, 2010 – Today, Ubisoft announces Outland, a new platformer inspired by epic adventures such as the Prince of Persia® series. Outland is developed by Housemarque, the award-winning development team and creators of Super Stardust HD.  The game will be available for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system in early 2011.

Outland puts players in the middle of a world of balance and chaos where their efforts allow them to bridge the ancient divide, or doom the world to destruction. Each player’s adventure will take them between light and darkness and force them to adapt to an ever-changing world. This light versus dark core gameplay is inspired by the arcade classic Ikaruga.

Immersed in a beautiful world doomed by chaos, players will test their swordplay by running, jumping and climbing to dodge the deadly traps of a world on the brink of collapse. Outland will feature unique high-definition graphics and an immersive soundtrack composed by Ari Pulkkinen, acknowledged for his work on the award-winning Trine project.

Outland will be on display for the first time at PAX in Seattle from September 3–5, 2010 at Ubisoft’s booth.

NVIDIA Auctions $10,000+ Uber-Rig for Charity

Posted by Tim On November - 20 - 2009

For those of you who check KNM on a regular basis, you know that I really don’t post a lot of press releases. This site is (mostly) about game reviews and my ramblings. However, every once in a while something jumps out at me because of its awesomeness, and this is one of those times. NVIDIA has built a ri-dic-u-lous rig and are auctioning it off for charity as of the time I’m posting this, its up around $4,000 with only about 18 bids. The auction ends in 4 days (Monday night/Tuesday morning around Midnight) so if you’ve got some cash you wanted to donate to a good cause, get in there and throw some bids down. I’ve lost family members to cancer, and this is a plague that can’t be eradicated fast enough!

Press release below, but I just want to say that I am impressed with some of the releases that are getting the PhysX and now the 3D Vision Treatment. It seems like the number of titles are growing and from personal experience the feature sets are pretty good looking. From the pic below, the game looks utterly amazing.

Just found this tasty tidbit in my email box – id’s John Carmack personally programmed Wolfenstein 3d for iPhone. Just finished downloading it and I have to say I’m already impressed with the smoothness of the controls and shooting. Weighing in at under 10mb, it has all 6 original eps and decent sounds. For 60 levels (10 levels per episode), 4.99 is well worth the price. Apparently we have more than just Wolfenstien to look forward to…

Full review will come once I have had a chance to sink my teeth into the game for a while.

More details after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
